Egypt - Valley of Kings

We head out to the Valley of the Kings.  This is where the tombs of many kings were discovered.  You can see from the terrain that it would be difficult to locate these tombs.  There are many mountains, they are all the same color and look very similar. It was amazing that anyone every found them.  We went into several tombs.  There were many pictures and hieroglyphics.  Many of the colors were well preserved.  You can just walk right into the tombs.  All the mummies have been removed.

No pictures are allowed.

Egypt - Vallley of Kings

This is a temple near the Valley of the Kings.

To keep the locations secret, they did not have maps of the tombs.  In one situation, they accidentally ran into another tomb and had to reroute.

Egypt

Third continent – Africa.  We flew from Alexandria into the town of Luxor.  We saw many houses like the attached picture.  This was one of the only houses with a camel.  The poverty is very sad.

Egypt - Nile River

I believe the Nile is the longest river in the world.  It is so large that they have plenty of water.  I don’t think I would want to drink out of it, or eat a carrot grown with this water.

Ship - Update

Life continues to be wonderful on the ship.  We had our first photo op for the ship – no rain and some sun.  As you can see, the ship is monstrous.

Ship - Relaxing

Can you tell we are having a great time?  Do we look relaxed?  This is wonderful.

Ship - Buffet

I mentioned that I could not take pictures of the food in the buffet or restaurants.  No one else is taking food pictures.  So, I decided to demonstrate the quality of the food in another way.  I have taken a before and after picture.  Yes, that sums it up.
