Keep in mind that we do not speak Spanish. However, it became clear that donkeys played a role in Mijas. Since it is in the hills and we saw lots of souvenirs with donkeys carrying farm produce, I suspect the donkeys were used to get produce down from the hills. Anyway, they now have carriages pulled by donkeys. I suspect that in the summer, there are many more carriages. We saw three. They offered to give guided tours of the city. If it hadn’t been raining so hard, we might have taken them up on it.
