Apparently, mice can damage the ruins. I don’t get this, but that is what we were told. So, the cats are an important part of the preservation. The amphitheater could hold 8,000 Greeks. The Romans increased the size to 25,000. They hold concerts here: Ray Charles, Tom Jones, etc.
