Sicily - Messina

I am pretty sure I mentioned that I mentioned that the Greek ports were closed due to labor strikes and demonstrations.  I think NCL did a wonderful job of finding a last minute substitution.  We stopped in Sicily.  We anchored at Messina.  We had been warned that there are not any old buildings in Messina.  In 1908 and earthquake leveled most of the town.  The resulting tsunami finished what the earthquake left.  In the middle of it all, a single Church did survive.  Then, we Americans bombed Messina relentlessly.  As the Nazi’s retreated, they bombed what was left.  A lot of the buildings look old, but they just made them look that way.
