Mijas

The name of the town we are going to today is Mijas.  One of the things on the “to do” list is viewing a flamenco dance.  There is one in the city center of Mijas at 12:00.  It takes about an hour to drive to Mijas. 

 

The weather is crappy.  There are brief sun sightings, but for the most part it changes from drizzle to downpour.  The main thing is that the dance is cancelled due to the weather.

 

Mijas is nestled in the mountains above Fuengirola.  The road is narrow and twisty.  Passing cars, trucks and busses is exciting.

 

When you get into the city, the streets are one-way and narrow.  Yet, cars and vans park leaving barely enough room to pass.  The old part of the city is white.  Every building is white.
